About this service

Subtitling requires three things to work simultaneously: accurate translation, correct timing, and readable line breaks. A subtitle file that scores perfectly on accuracy but breaks sentences at the wrong point, or that runs over the speaker by two seconds, is a failed subtitle. We handle subtitling for corporate video, documentary content, training and e-learning videos, conference recordings, marketing and social media content, and broadcast material. We produce SRT and VTT files for web and streaming platforms, DFXP for broadcast workflows, and SDH files for deaf and hard-of-hearing audiences. For Spanish content going into English, we follow BBC Subtitle Guidelines as the reference standard for timing and reading speed unless the client specifies otherwise. For captioning of English content into Spanish, we follow SMPTE ST 2052 for broadcast or client-specific style guides for digital. We can receive video files directly or work from existing SRT files requiring translation without retiming. If translation and retiming are both needed, we produce a clean spotting pass before translation begins.
