Academic Translation
Theses, research papers, conference proceedings, and academic documentation translated to publication standard.
About this service
Academic translation is not the same as commercial translation. Journal reviewers notice when a paper reads like a translation. The syntax is different, the register is different, and subject-specific terminology follows conventions that vary between disciplines and target journals. We translate academic content with specialist translators who have advanced degrees in relevant fields. Someone translating a paper on marine biology has a background in marine biology. Someone translating a paper on tax law has a legal background. We have translated doctoral theses, master dissertations, conference papers, book chapters, grant applications, ethics committee submissions, and institutional documents. For each project we agree terminology upfront where the source material has field-specific vocabulary that has no single accepted equivalent. Translated files are accompanied by a terminology note on any significant translation decisions. For submissions to specific journals, we can adapt the translation to match the house style of the target publication.
